Pflugerville, TX -- March 30 thru April 3, 2006 - Representing the Archdiocese of Ukraine, Bishops Vsevolod and Daniil, along with Mitred Archpriest Valentyn Soroka, attended the Holy Synod of Bishops which was held at St. Augustine Cathedral, Pflugerville, TX. The Ukraine Bishops and Mitred Archpriest Valentyn are pictured above concelebrating the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom with (USA & Prime Bishop), Metropolitan Ioan, Archbishop Andrei (Canada), Archbishop Chrysostomos (Ecuador, Central & South America), Bishop Martin (USA), Bishop Gregory (USA) and the priests and archdeacons in attendance.
It is with great joy that we celebrate the ordination of our beloved brother, BISHOP STEPHAN, who was ordained in Kyiv on August 30, 2005, and we ask all our brother Bishops, Priests, Deacons and Faithful to remember +Stephan in your prayers that the Holy Spirit would guide him and fill him with the desire to seek only His will. To our brother, MANY, MANY YEARS!

Of the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Autonomous Ukrainian Orthodox Church in America under the guidance of the Synod President, His Excellence Archbishop Isaakiy, Archbishop of Ukraine, Archbishop of Cherkasy-Odesa.

1. Listened to His Eminence Archbishop Isaakiy, Archbishop of Cherkasy-Odesa concerning the elevation of His Eminence Bishop Ioan, Bishop of Milwaukee and the Midwest to Prime Bishop of the Autonomous Ukrainian Orthodox Church in America.
Unanimously agreed: to elevate His Eminence Bishop Ioan, Bishop of Milwaukee and the Midwest to Archbishop and to be Prime Bishop of the Autonomous Ukrainian Orthodox Church in America
2. To express sincere gratitude to His Eminence Ioan, Archbishop of the United States and Prime Bishop of the Autonomous Ukrainian Orthodox Church in America, for his firm and principled stance during the canonical disputes that appeared around the odd person of Moisey and his heretical beliefs and which brought irrepairable damage to Ukraine, the Ukrainian people, the Episcopate and clergy.
3. To express the hope that Archbishop Ioan will work for the development of the Autonomous Ukrainian Orthodox Church in American, Ukraine and the diaspora and will adhere strictly to the holy Canons of the Orthodox Church and that he will be a good Arch-Shepherd before Almighty God.
